Increase Your Metabolism in Just 30 Seconds

It is common knowledge that regular exercise will boost your metabolism and improve your overall health. Most people are well aware that exercise can help you lose weight, improve your mood, reduce the risk of disease, and make it look younger among many other benefits. So, if these benefits are so widely known, but why not every exercise on a regular basis?

For many people, they think exercise is time consuming, and time is something you simply do not. However, recent studies have shown that you do not really need to exercise for a long time to reap health benefits. In fact, only 30 seconds of exercise can be extremely beneficial to your health.

Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh recently conducted a study that shows that short periods of intense exercise can reduce your risk of developing diabetes. This study was healthy, young, male actors play 30-second sprints on exercise bikes for two weeks at a time. Each of the participants is a few short sprints each day totaling 30 seconds. This added up to a total of 15 minutes of exercise during the two weeks course.

The researchers found that study participants had significantly improved insulin response and blood sugar control. James Timmons, a researcher on the study concluded, "Doing some intense muscle exercises, each lasting about 30 seconds, dramatically improves the metabolism in just two weeks ."

This study is important because it shows how short exercises can really make significant progress on your health and increase your metabolism. Specifically, it also shows that 30 seconds of exercise can reduce your risk of developing diabetes. In our hectic everyday life, where time is not a luxury, it's really good to know that we can still get in shape and protect our health in a short time.
